Bangkok: Thai football is seriously strengthening its foundations as the art of soccer converges with the innovative power of electric vehicles through the 'AFC 'B' Coaching Certificate Course by BYD.' This Asian-level coaching development program aims to cultivate quality personnel for Thai football, a collaboration between the Football Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, BYD, and Revé Automotive Co., Ltd., the official distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Thailand. BYD is sponsoring the entire training course. According to Thai News Agency, participants learned to develop individual player potential in terms of technique, positional skills, and game understanding, as well as overall team management. This included internal communication, motivation, managing athletes' mental well-being, and planning training sessions with clear and measurable results. The unique aspect of this course is its emphasis on practical application. Participants are required to think, analyze, and experiment with tactical concepts through simulated scenarios and continuous field training, receiving close guidance from expert instructors to develop a sharper and more globally relevant coaching perspective. One of the key highlights of this course is providing participants with the opportunity to learn directly from leading figures in the football industry, who will share their experiences and perspectives from the professional level in an intensive manner. Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thai men's national football team, shared his insights on managing a team at the international level, covering aspects from team structure and communication with players to preparing for high-level competitions. Meanwhile, "Tong" Kawin Thamsatchanan, former Thai national team goalkeeper, shared his experiences throughout his football career, both domestically and internationally. He conveyed his perspective as a professional player on working with coaches, including aspects of expectations, communication, and building trust within the team. This helped to broaden the understanding between coaches and players and became a significant inspiration to the participants. Another interesting aspect of this project is the support from BYD, which recognizes that driving the future is not just about clean energy or automotive technology, but also includes the "power of human resources" which will be a key driving force for society. This support for the AFC coaching program reflects the concept of investing in human capital to build a network of quality coaches in Thai football, from youth to professional leagues. When coaches, who are behind the development of players, possess up-to-date knowledge, have in-depth tactical perspectives, and maintain clear team management standards, it will positively impact the quality of players and teams at all levels. Amidst intense training, detailed tactical discussions, and diverse exchanges of experiences throughout the course, the 24 coaches are gradually accumulating valuable knowledge and practical ex perience, which will become crucial tools for further developing their own football teams in the future. And on the day they step out of this training field with their AFC 'B' License certificate in hand, their role will no longer be limited to that of sideline coaches. They will become crucial components in driving and elevating the standards of Thai football, ensuring its steady progress on the international stage. Those interested can find more details about the project through the Football Association of Thailand's communication channels or the Facebook pages FA Coaching Course and BYD Thailand.
