The Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town Planning stated that the first-ever 'DPT Mini Marathon 2026: Running for City Builders' marks a significant step in providing a platform for the public, runners, health enthusiasts, and personnel in the urban development sector to demonstrate the power of health, unity, and pride at the Chonlamak Withee Bridge in Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province. This bridge is part of a 7-kilometer coastal road project developed according to the Chonburi City Master Plan of 2010, serving as a bypass network (Proposed Road No. C) to alleviate traffic congestion. Importantly, it stimulates the economy in Chonburi and surrounding areas, boosting bookings at hotels, accommodations, and restaurants, thanks to the participation of over 4,200 runners and their companions from across the country. This contributes to continuous income distribution within the community and enhances Chonburi's image as a tourist destination.

Subsequently, the Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town Planning presented awards to the winners in each distance category and prizes to all participants. This success today clearly reflects the role of the Department of Public Works and Town Planning in "building cities for people and creating happiness for society" in a tangible and sustainable manner.
