Woman Alleges Clinic Ruined Her Nose and Pressured Her to Sign Documents

Bangkok: A woman is seeking justice after undergoing a nose job at a well-known clinic for over 200,000 baht, only to have her nose ruined. She also alleges the clinic forced her to sign a consent form for corrective surgery, promising not to sue.

According to Thai News Agency, "Sergeant Kings Tangtim Saphan Mai" accompanied Ms. Rabaifun, the victim, to file a complaint at the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) after she reported that she underwent rhinoplasty at a well-known premium cosmetic clinic, but her nose became inflamed and infected, causing tissue damage and deformity. She lost over 200,000 baht and was also pressured to sign a document dropping the charges.

The victim stated that in March, she saw an advertisement on Instagram for a well-known clinic in central Bangkok, featuring a top-tier celebrity as a presenter. She decided to consult them about rhinoplasty at a promotional price of 159,000 baht, but the salesperson persuaded her to pay almost 300,000 baht. Ultimately, she opted for a "review case" at a price of 200,000 baht (excluding medication costs), which involved an open surgery using cartilage from behind the ear to support the tip of the nose.

The victim further stated that after the surgery, she experienced severe pain in her tailbone and significant bleeding. For the first 1-7 days, she felt like there was fluid trapped inside her nose. On the day the stitches were removed, her nose was noticeably swollen and red, but the doctor claimed this was normal. Eventually, her nose became infected, the skin on her nose changed color, became flaky, and pus oozed out, resembling a nasal perforation. When her condition worsened, the clinic called her in urgently and informed her that she needed immediate surgery to remove the silicone implant because of an infection that was drug-resistant, claiming the infection originated from her.

The victim stated that she was pressured by nurses and staff to sign a consent form for surgery, with the condition that "the clinic would not charge any fees and the victim would not file a lawsuit." Despite attempts to contact relatives beforehand, the clinic rushed the process, forcing her to reluctantly sign the documents.

After the silicone implant was removed, her nose was noticeably deformed, causing her to lose confidence and preventing her from living a normal life for over six months. She eventually decided to travel to China for corrective treatment, and although her condition improved, she still has visible scars and experiences intermittent difficulty breathing. Therefore, she has filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) with all the evidence, seeking legal action and justice from the clinic.
