Nakhon ratchasima: Rajamangala University of Technology Isan recently celebrated a significant milestone by awarding vocational certificates to 24 soldiers, creating a model for the integration of education and military service. The event marked the graduation of the first cohort under a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and opportunities for conscripted soldiers.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, Mr. Anupong Suksomnit, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and Lieutenant General Veerayut Rakasilp, Commander of the 2nd Army Area. The Minister of Defence expressed his satisfaction with the success of the "Larb Restaurant Declaration," which facilitated the educational advancement of these soldiers. The project was initially coordinated when he served as Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Area, eventually leading to the agreement, "1 Command, 1 Educational Institution: Developing People, Developing the Army, Developing the Nation."

Lieutenant General Adul highlighted the project's multifaceted approach, which offers soldiers opportunities to enhance both their physical and mental health, educational qualifications, and overall quality of life. This initiative not only equips them with vocational skills but also instills discipline and patriotism, preparing them for stable careers and responsible citizenship.

The collaboration's origin, humorously dubbed the "Larb Restaurant Declaration," began during a meal between Lieutenant General Adul and the university president. The Minister expressed pride in the project's fruition and its alignment with government policies to support volunteer soldier programs.

Mr. Khosit Sripuhtorn, the Rector of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, praised Lieutenant General Adul's persistent efforts to drive the project forward. With campuses spread throughout the Northeast region, the university is well-positioned to expand the initiative, providing flexible education modes, including classroom, extracurricular, and online learning, to disciplined soldiers.

The Rector emphasized that graduates of the "1 Command Center, 1 Educational Institution" project are expected to become exemplary community leaders, armed with both knowledge and discipline, contributing positively to society.
