Bang bua thong: A Good Samaritan rescued a Bangkaew dog that had been stuffed in a sack and fell out of the back of a pickup truck on Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. The speeding pickup truck fled the scene without a second thought.
According to Thai News Agency, a large sack fell from the back of a pickup truck in the middle of Kanchanaphisek Road, near Ban Kluay Sai Noi. The animal, believed to be inside, struggled violently. Good Samaritans helped pull it to the side of the road. Upon opening it, they discovered it contained a Bangkaew dog.
Information from the "Nonthaburi News" Facebook page states: "Poor dog! It was tied up in a sack and fell onto the main road. Luckily, a kind citizen saw it and quickly pulled the sack off the road, worried it would be hit by a car. They opened the sack, allowing the dog to stick its head out and breathe. People were hesitant to touch it, fearing it might bite, so they gave it food and water and notified the authorities."
At 00:30 (May 16, 2026), a reporter visited the scene and met Ms. Jum, the person who rescued the dog. She recounted that she initially saw the sack thrashing and shaking violently. People then helped to open the sack, revealing a Bangkaew dog in a state of shock and fear, foaming at the mouth and refusing to eat the food offered. It was suspected the dog had been taken away to be harmed, as a real owner wouldn't do something like this. However, after the story was shared on a Nonthaburi news page, a kind person contacted them offering to adopt the Bangkaew dog.
A video circulating online shows Good Samaritans and vendors in a market in Sikhiu District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, trying to rescue two dogs abandoned in a car in scorching heat. The dogs are seen panting, struggling, and trying to peek their heads out through the slightly open windows, whimpering for help. The sight evoked pity from locals and vendors who feared the dogs might die. Some even doused the car with water to help cool the dogs before the owner returned.
Reporters visited the area and spoke with the owner, finding both dogs still cheerful and playful. The brown dog, named "Nong Namtan," is a 3-month-old female, and the white dog, named "Kruea Kaeng," is a 6-month-old female. The brown dog was recently adopted and is still adjusting to its new surroundings.
The owner stated that on the day of the incident, the two dogs were playing in the car, but the extremely hot weather caused them to become exhausted, even though the windows were slightly open. The owner also mentioned that they had gone inside to repair a computer for 10 minutes. They usually take both dogs with them everywhere. The owner also urged critics to listen to their explanation and use their judgment when commenting, even if they consider the explanation unconvincing. They added that they will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from happening again.
However, pet experts warn that leaving animals inside a car, even with the windows slightly open, puts them at risk of heatstroke, especially in extremely hot weather, which could even be fatal for dogs.
