Bangkok: The government is opening the way for restaurants to participate in the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" program through food delivery platforms, starting June 15th, to boost restaurant revenue and provide convenience for the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, is extending the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" initiative to include food delivery systems. This effort is designed to expand sales channels for restaurant and beverage businesses, while facilitating easier access for citizens to enjoy their benefits via delivery applications. The program aligns with contemporary digital spending habits and aims to stimulate the grassroots economy.
The deputy spokesperson mentioned that citizens can avail of their benefits through participating food delivery platforms from June 15 to September 30, 2026, between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Food and beverage businesses interested in joining the program can register through food delivery platforms starting June 10, 2026.
Merchants are required to manage transactions via the "Tung Ngern" application. They need to download or update the Tung Ngern app to its newest version, then select the "Food Delivery Project" banner on the app to agree to the terms and conditions before choosing their preferred food delivery platform provider.
Upon completing this procedure, participating shops will be able to handle food and beverage orders from the public through the delivery system. The platform will coordinate with riders to collect and deliver the orders to consumers, while shops can review their payment history through the "Thung Ngern" application.
The government anticipates that integrating the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 project with food delivery platforms will expand market opportunities for small restaurants, enhance sales and revenue for entrepreneurs, and provide the public with easier access to affordable food and services.
"The government prioritizes the use of digital technology to drive the grassroots economy, support small businesses, and simultaneously reduce the cost of living for the public, so that money circulates and is distributed evenly throughout the community," the deputy spokesperson emphasized.
