Bangkok: The Civil Court launched the "Collaborative Mediation Project 2026" to promote the use of mediation in resolving disputes. Today, at the Civil Court, Mr. Thani Singhanat, Chief Judge of the Civil Court, presided over the opening ceremony of the "Collaborative Mediation Project 2026." The event was attended by the Deputy Chief Judges, judges, secretaries, directors, civil servants, court mediators, representatives from banks, government and private sector agencies, and lawyers, totaling over 100 people.
According to Thai News Agency, the 2026 Joint Mediation Project aims to promote the use of mediation in dispute resolution and to build knowledge and understanding, encouraging the public to see the benefits of mediation both before and after litigation. Under this project, the Civil Court has planned various activities, including developing a one-stop service center for litigants and the general public at the Mediation and Conciliation Center on the 9th floor of the Civil Court building. This center will provide consultation, answer questions, guide on dispute mediation procedures, receive applications, and conduct complete mediation.
The project also includes public relations outreach to disseminate knowledge about dispute mediation to community leaders and the general public at external agencies such as district offices within the Civil Court's jurisdiction. Additionally, lectures on basic legal knowledge about dispute mediation will be given to personnel in various agencies and the general public. The "Young Mediator" program will be organized to enhance knowledge and understanding, instilling the concept of peaceful dispute resolution among secondary and tertiary students, including demonstrations of simulated dispute mediation and opportunities for participants to practice.
Furthermore, a video public relations material will be produced to disseminate knowledge about the mediation process through various communication channels of the Civil Court. This project is scheduled to run from April to June 2026.
