Bangkok: Police raided a massage parlor suspected of engaging in prostitution. Authorities raided a massage parlor in Bang Khun Thian that claimed to offer health massages but was secretly engaging in prostitution.
According to Thai News Agency, the Human Trafficking Suppression Division arrested Ms. Dararat, 51, and Ms. Warin, 37, along with evidence including mobile phones, used condoms, and a notebook containing records of massage parlor work. They were charged with jointly engaging in human trafficking under the Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression Act, the Child Protection Act, and the Prostitution Prevention and Suppression Act. The arrests took place at a health massage parlor in the Rama 2 area, Samae Dam Subdistrict, Bang Khun Thian District, Bangkok.
Following a tip-off that a health massage parlor was secretly engaging in prostitution and that underage girls (under 18) were likely working there, police investigated and found information about the establishment on the website X. Upon contact, the parlor responded with messages openly offering sexual services. A sting operation was planned, resulting in the arrest of Ms. A (pseudonym) and Ms. B (pseudonym), both under 18, who were allegedly provided by the establishment for sexual services. Ms. A, aged 16, and Ms. B, aged 17, victims of human trafficking, were rescued, protected, and placed under the care of Baan Krettrakarn.
During initial questioning, the suspect denied all charges.
Information gathered from victims indicates that the first suspect, the shop owner, charged a girl approximately 1,800 baht per prostitution session. After deductions for commission and other expenses, the girl received only a small amount. Furthermore, victims testified that even when they were ill or physically unfit, the first suspect still forced them to work as usual.
