Bangkok: "Independence" has no hidden agenda. Ice-Hatthakorn adheres to the people's agenda, aiming to transform Yannawa. Hatthakorn Kosoljit, known as "Ice," is an independent candidate running for a seat on the Bangkok City Council representing the Yannawa district. She is promoting a mechanism that empowers working people to "create-improve-repeat" Bangkok regulations, with the goal of transforming Yannawa and enhancing the quality of life in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Hattakorn Kosoljit, candidate number 2 for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council in Yannawa, has been actively engaging with the local community. She has dedicated her time to visiting the district daily to understand the challenges faced by its residents. Among the pressing issues identified are recurring floods, often caused by encroachments obstructing waterways. Ms. Hattakorn emphasizes the need for a considerate approach to relocating affected residents, advocating for fair compensation. She stresses the importance of dialogue and negotiation between the government and the public, particularly in high-risk areas like the Rongsi community. To address the flooding problem, she supports the construction of a dike as a sustainable solution.
Ms. Hattakorn's campaign is built on the principles of "creation, improvement, and repeal." She aims to establish new regulations that align with changing times, update existing ones to match current lifestyles, and eliminate outdated regulations. If elected, she plans to implement these changes in her first year in office.
Her familiarity with Yannawa's issues stems from her previous role as a campaign assistant for a national political party, where she gained insight into the local population's challenges. Beyond flooding, she highlights issues like sewage, electricity problems, damaged infrastructure, and the need for improved nutrition at early childhood development centers. She proposes a food subsidy for children, requiring collaboration between public and private sectors.
Ms. Hattakorn also wants to enhance safety and quality of life in Yannawa. She advocates for better road lighting, CCTV installation, and government involvement in maintaining private roads. Her proposal includes a new regulation to allow private individuals to maintain public utilities on land used as public roads. Additionally, she aims to increase green spaces and address the issue of stray animals through vaccinations.
Running independently, Ms. Hattakorn emphasizes transparency and prioritizing the community's needs. She encourages Bangkok residents to vote on June 28th for the Bangkok Governor and City Council members, urging them to choose the Bangkok they envision. She hopes to represent Yannawa's residents, addressing their needs and working toward a better Bangkok through dedication and collaboration.
