According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage shows a black pickup truck speeding past the camera, followed by the bodies of a mother and her three children sliding along the road. This incident occurred on Khlong Lan Phatthana Road, Khlong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. Eyewitnesses shared the video and images online to seek justice for the mother and children.
In this incident, a mother and her two children, who were riding together on a motorcycle, were hit and thrown in different directions. The mother, Ms. Piyawadee, 40 years old, was thrown into a drainage pipe, while her 13-year-old and 9-year-old sons were thrown into the middle of the road. The mother later died. The driver of the pickup truck involved was Police Lieutenant Kriengkrai, 53 years old, an officer from Khlong Lan Police Station.
At the recent funeral service for the deceased, the daughter revealed that she is still confused and worried about both the household expenses and life going forward, as her mother was the main breadwinner. She is concerned about her younger sibling who is still in the hospital in critical condition and has not yet regained consciousness, and worries about whether there will be any brain or physical effects if the sibling recovers. Currently, the family is in a completely hopeless situation.
Police Lieutenant Kriengkrai, the other party involved, came to pay his respects and apologize to the deceased's family. He stated that at the time of the accident, his car rolled down the hill, causing him to lose control and collide with the back of the deceased's motorcycle. He confirmed that he did not flee the scene, immediately getting out of the car to check on the family, and that he had not been drinking alcohol. Regarding compensation, he affirmed that he will take full responsibility for the deceased's children and all related expenses, as he sympathizes with the victim's family.
While eyewitnesses confirmed that the pickup truck involved in the accident swerved and directly hit the rear of the motorcycle, contrary to the other party's claim, and also smelled alcohol and showed clear signs of intoxication, they are ready to cooperate with authorities to seek justice for the victim's family.
