Bangkok: The Army accuses BRN allies of using AI to manipulate images to impersonate government officials. Major General Winthai Suwari, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, clarified the situation regarding the shared image of a tattoo on the arm of an assailant who attacked a ranger base at a checkpoint in Narathiwat province. Questions were raised about whether Muslims would have tattoos due to religious constraints. He stated that the image was created using AI and was likely an attempt by insurgents to manipulate public opinion and distort the truth.
According to Thai News Agency, due to the deliberately enhanced image quality and excessive clarity, it appears unnatural. It's believed that the average person can see through this, and it's an old tactic used in the past, but it no longer deceives society. Today, news consumers have sufficient critical thinking skills, leading to questions being raised about the true motives of those who disseminate such information. All Thais must work together to protect officials and innocent citizens, and prevent those with ill intentions towards the country from gaining a foothold in society.
