London:The Prime Minister has arrived in London to further his roadshow and issue directives to manage the flood situation in Thailand. His visit includes a series of high-level meetings with UK business and industrial leaders focusing on investment, finance, aviation, and tourism.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that upon arrival, the Prime Minister was set to meet with UK Trade Representative for Thailand Mr. Matt Western, Mr. Mark Gooding of the Department of Strategy and Relations for Asia-Pacific, Mr. Matthew Davies from the Department of Strategy and Trade Relations, Mr. David Thomas from the Royal British Embassy in Thailand, and Mr. Rupert Goodman, Chairman of the Thai-UK Business Council.
The agenda includes a speech by the Prime Minister and an afternoon reception with UK government and private sector representatives. The discussions aim to enhance business linkages, confidence, and potential between Thailand and the UK.
Following these events, the Prime Minister will engage in public-private partnership discussions with executives from UBS Group AG, Virgin Atlantic, and Rolls-Royce. These talks are intended to foster cooperation and expand business opportunities between the two nations.
"This London mission is another important step in bringing Thailand's potential and opportunities to the global market," Mr. Ekkapop stated. "By meeting with government, financial, and business sectors, we aim to build confidence, foster cooperation, and open new opportunities for trade and investment between Thailand and the United Kingdom, thereby generating tangible benefits for the Thai economy."
Meanwhile, Ms. Traisuli Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, emphasized that despite being abroad, the Prime Minister has instructed officials to prepare for flash floods in Thailand. This includes creating contingency plans, arranging for public evacuations, and ensuring the availability of necessary machinery and equipment.
The Prime Minister's trip to London concludes his overseas tour aimed at expanding Thailand's trade and investment opportunities. He is scheduled to return to Thailand on September 27th.
