Bangkok:Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev) and its S-Cola brand have announced a donation of 20 million baht to support the Thai women's national volleyball team in recognition of their recent international successes.
According to Thai News Agency, the donation was made to celebrate the team's historic achievements, including winning their fourth Asian Championship title, qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, and earning a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The funds will be allocated with 12 million baht directed to the team and coaching staff, and 8 million baht to the Volleyball Association of Thailand to aid in preparations for the upcoming Olympics.
The donation ceremony took place at the ThaiBev Quarter Building, attended by Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, and other notable figures, including Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Charnrit Wongprasert and head coach "Coach Odd" Kiatipong Ratchatagriangrai. The team captain, Pornpun Guedparach, along with senior players known as the "7 Legends," were also present.
The Thai national volleyball team's triumphs began at the AVC Women's Volleyball Continental Championship 2026 in Tianjin, China, where they defeated South Korea, Japan, and ultimately China to claim their Asian Cup title. They continued their success by securing a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games, further solidifying their status as a formidable team.
