Samut Prakan:A tragic accident occurred on the Kanchanaphisek Expressway when a trailer truck, driven by Mr. Wisanu, failed to stop after experiencing a tire blowout and subsequently crashed into a parked pickup truck. The collision resulted in the death of a 6-year-old boy.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident took place on the Bang Phli-Suksawat section of the expressway, near kilometer marker 13+300, before the Chang Sam Sian exit in Mueang District. Rescue teams from the Kanchanaphisek Expressway and the Ruam Katanyu Foundation were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Emergency personnel used hydraulic cutters to access the wreckage of the black pickup truck, which had been reduced to scrap metal. Inside, a mother and her 6-year-old son were trapped. Rescuers were able to free the mother, but sadly, the child was found deceased after a prolonged effort to reach him.
Before the collision, the boy had been asleep in the pickup truck with his mother while his father, Mr. Phuwanat, was repairing a broken-down 18-wheeler nearby. The parked vehicle was struck when Mr. Wisanu's truck lost control due to the tire issue. Despite attempts to manage the situation by lifting the damaged wheel, the vehicle ultimately collided with the parked pickup, causing the fatal incident.
Police from the Samut Prakan City Police Station are conducting an investigation and have invited Mr. Wisanu for further questioning to assess potential legal actions.
