Bangkok: The Glass-Shaping Association aims to win 3 gold medals in the World Championship in Switzerland, with MCOT ready to cooperate in promoting Thai children and youth in sports and recreation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chusakul Rajapaetyakom, Acting President of the Stacking and Recreation Activities Association, along with Mr. Warit Chaengjai, Secretary-General of the Association, and Mr. Harit Wichitnarong Ruangharit, Chairman of the Stacking Sports Development Strategy, jointly announced the readiness to send athletes to compete in the WSSA 2025 World Sport Stacking Championships in Zurich, Switzerland, scheduled for April 23-30. Mr. Phatiyuth Jaisawang, Acting Director-General of MCOT Public Company Limited, also gave encouragement to the athletes before they traveled to compete. He emphasized MCOT's commitment to promoting Thai children and youth's participation in sports and recreation by sharing news of the athletes' performance in the World Championship for Thai sports fans to follow.
Thailand will be represented by a total of 14 athletes, encompassing nearly every age group, with a target of securing at least 3 gold medals. Particular hopes are pinned on the women's singles under 18 years category, men's singles 7-8 years category, and the doubles 7-8 years category.
The Glass Association is also planning to negotiate a bid for Thailand to host the World Championship in 2027. This effort will involve collaboration between the Glass Association, Recreational Activities, Bangkok, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The Thai junior sparring athletes have been training continuously, expressing their readiness to perform their best and aim for gold medals. They have called for support and encouragement from the Thai staad team.
The Thai team of rowing athletes departed from Suvarnabhumi Airport on flight EK 385 of Emirates Airlines last night and are scheduled to arrive at Zurich Airport, Switzerland, this morning.
