Bangkok: The Meteorological Department warns the upper part of Thailand to be cautious of summer storms from April 27 to May 1, 2025. The region is expected to experience thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and heavy rain in some areas, with potential lightning occurrences.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has announced that a moderate high-pressure area from China has spread to cover Vietnam and the South China Sea, influencing the southeast and southwest winds over the upper part of Thailand. This weather pattern is expected to result in hot to very hot conditions. Additionally, from April 28 to May 1, a westerly wind wave from Myanmar will move across the northern and upper northeastern regions, heightening the risk of thunderstorms and heavy rain. Residents in affected areas are advised to exercise caution, particularly in avoiding travel through thunderstorm-prone regions and areas with known flooding issues. Precautions such as avoiding open spaces, large trees, and unstable structures are recommended. Farmers are urged to secure their crops and livestock against possible damage and to maintain health precautions during the weather transition.
