Police Plan Reenactment for Suspect in Rock-Throwing Incident

Bangkok: Police are set to conduct a reenactment involving the individual accused of throwing rocks at vehicles, with plans to present the suspect, Mr. Chalat, at the Phra Khanong Criminal Court for detention on charges of attempted murder.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Surapong Sukyam, Superintendent of Bang Na Metropolitan Police Station, reported the arrest and subsequent confession of Mr. Chalat, aged 45. The suspect admitted to the crime following extensive questioning, attributing his actions to a momentary lapse of reason exacerbated by alcohol consumption and homelessness. Furthermore, the police have conducted drug tests, with results pending. Despite concerns regarding his mental health, Mr. Chalat was coherent during questioning, eliminating the need for psychiatric hospitalization.

As part of the investigation, Mr. Chalat will be taken to the crime scene this afternoon to corroborate his confession. His court appearance for detention is scheduled for tomorrow at the Phra Khanong Criminal Court under the charge of attempted murder.
