Warawut Silpa-archa Confident 2016 Budget Bill Will Pass Without Rejection

Bangkok: "Warawut" is confident that the 2016 Budget Bill will not be defeated, and believes that the government will last its full term. Warawut is confident that there will be no rejection of the 69 budget bill, stating that at this time the country needs investment budget and economic stimulus. He believes that the government will last the full term, comparing Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai to husband and wife, who sometimes clash with their tongues and teeth when living together.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security and leader of the Chartthaipattana Party, spoke about the news of a vote to reject the draft budget bill for fiscal year 2026, saying that he had heard the news but thought that this incident would not happen because as far as he could remember, when the draft budget bill for fiscal year 2026 was submitted to the Cabinet meeting, all parties approved it. Therefore, this incident should not happen, which may be a misunderstanding or rumor. He only received the news from the media.

Reporters asked if such an incident was unlikely to happen, since the budget was a major issue. Mr. Varawut said that he thought that the budget issue was something that had been seen twice before. If the budget time was according to the calendar, the previous year's budget would have to be used temporarily, which would slow down the investment budget, including the economic stimulus budget, especially amidst Thailand's current economy and in the next 1-2 years, government spending is very important. Therefore, when there is a budget calendar and operations do not go according to the original, it will affect the Thai economy. Therefore, he thought that such an incident would not happen.

When asked if this news was due to conflicts between the Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties, Mr. Varawut said that during the cabinet meeting, they spoke normally. As for the differences of opinion, some people might see it as conflict. He said every time that the work of the coalition government is considered normal to have differences of opinion. It is like a husband and wife living together, so they must be angry at each other sometimes, have arguments sometimes. Tongues and teeth clashing is normal, but he is still confident that this government will work until the end of its term.
