Prime Minister Receives Cell Broadcast Notification During Southern Border Meeting

Bangkok: The Prime Minister received a Cell Broadcast notification during a meeting to monitor the situation in the southern border provinces. The meeting took place after the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and mobile phone networks were called upon to test the system again at Government House.

According to Thai News Agency, while Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, was engaged in the meeting to follow up on the southern border provinces' situation, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), representatives from mobile phone companies, and the NBTC Secretary-General conducted a test of the Cell Broadcast system at Government House. This test occurred at 2:05 p.m., following an initial test earlier in the day at 1:00 p.m.

Everyone inside Government House, including the Prime Minister, received the Cell Broadcast notification. The Prime Minister, upon receiving the notification, looked at his phone and placed his hand on his chest, expressing surprise. He inquired if everyone else in the meeting had also received the notification, to which they confirmed receipt.
