View Kulwut and Bas-Sky Secure Semi-Final Spots at Toyota Thailand Open

Bangkok: "View Kulwut" and "Bas-Sky" have successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the Toyota Thailand Open badminton tournament, showcasing impressive performances in their respective quarter-final matches.

According to Thai News Agency, the Toyota Thailand Open 2025, a significant badminton event in Thailand, is being held at the Nimibutr Building, National Stadium. This competition, which offers world ranking points at the BWF World Tour Super 500 level, features a total prize pool of over 475,000 US dollars or approximately 16,150,000 baht. The quarter-finals took place today, with top players from around the world competing for the prestigious King's Trophy.

In the men's singles quarterfinals, "View" Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the number 1 seed and world number 2, faced off against Kenta Nishimoto, the number 6 seed and world number 12 from Japan. Kulwut displayed exceptional skill, winning the match 2-0 with scores of 21-16 and 21-18. He will next compete against Low Kianyu, the 5th seed and 11th ranked player from Singapore, who triumphed over Rasmus Kemke of Denmark in a 2-1 victory.

On the women's side, "May" Ratchanok Intanon, the 7th seed and world number 11, was defeated by Tomoka Miyazaki, the 3rd seed and world number 8 from Japan, in straight sets 16-21, 16-21.

In men's doubles, the duo of "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Sky" Kittinupong Ketsuren, seeded 5th and ranked 16th in the world, overcame the 4th seed Indonesian pair Sabar Karyaman Kutama and Mohd Reza Pahlavi Isfahani with a 2-0 victory, finishing 21-18, 21-13. They are set to face either Aaron Cheah and Soe Vuyik, the 2nd seed and world number 5 from Malaysia, or Janaldi Arif and Yap Royking, the 6th seed and world number 21 from Malaysia, in the semi-finals.
