S.B.M.T. Launches Nationwide U17 7-a-side Football Tournament

Bangkok: Open the stage for the White Elephants to show off their skills! Explode the 7-a-side student football competition, U17, S.B.M.T. Cup, 1st time, spread across 4 regions nationwide, searching for the final 16 teams. Dr. Narin Chamnandu, President of the Secondary School Administrators Association of Thailand (S.B.M.T.), along with Dr. Atthaphon Thiraphonphongsiri, Director of Satriwitthaya 2 School under Royal Patronage as the chairman of the competition, Dr. Wirachai Boon-yu, Director of Debsirin Romklao School and Treasurer of S.B.M.T. jointly announced the organization of the competition "7-a-side Student Football U17 S.B.M.T. Cup 1st time" at Udon Boonthavorn Meeting Room, Satriwitthaya 2 School under Royal Patronage, Sukonthasawat Road, Lat Phrao, Bangkok.

According to Thai News Agency, the event also discussed the Thai student football industry and the tournament competition led by "Fluke" Thirayut Bunnongsa from True Sport, "Opal" Natcha Senabut from the Opal All in page, and "Maew" Somyot Dangyuan, Editor of Tourism and Sports News, Sports News Agency, MCOT. They discussed the future development of Thai youth football.

The Association of Secondary School Administrators of Thailand (S.B.M.T.) has joined forces with its partners to launch the first S.B.M.T. Cup 7-a-side student football competition. The competition will span 4 regions nationwide starting in August, aiming to identify the final 16 teams for the national round. The final round will occur at Satriwitthaya 2 School under Royal Patronage football field in October. The champion team will receive 100,000 baht, 2nd place 50,000 baht, 3rd place 30,000 baht, and 4th place 20,000 baht.

Dr. Narin Chamnandu emphasized that S.B.M.T., which has over 2,900 member schools and more than 20,000 registered members, is dedicated to developing children's potential academically. He highlighted the significance of the competition in promoting physical health and career development, noting that scouts from various clubs will be observing the participants.

Dr. Atthaphon Thiraphonphongsiri outlined the competition's readiness, detailing plans to organize regional competitions in Phrae Province (North), Nakhon Si Thammarat Province (South), Sisaket Province (Northeast), and Kanchanaburi Province (Central). The selected provinces were chosen based on their personnel, stadiums, referees, and experience.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in student football tournaments, aiming to develop future national team players. Dr. Atthaphon, with his experience as the manager of the Thai student football team, believes this tournament will serve as a crucial platform for young talents to be scouted by clubs, ultimately contributing to their progression to the national team.
