Singapore: "View" Kunlavut Vitidsarn emerged victorious in the men's singles championship at the Singapore Open badminton tournament, defeating China's Lu Kwang-soo in straight sets. Concurrently, the pair "Bas-Fame" triumphed in the mixed doubles category. According to Thai News Agency, in the Badminton World Tour Super 750 event held in Singapore, Kunlavut Vitidsarn made history by becoming the first Thai player to ascend to the world number 1 spot. He secured the men's singles title by overpowering Lu Guang Su from China with a score of 21-6, 21-10. This victory marks his fourth championship win this year, celebrated just before the official announcement by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) confirming his top ranking. Vitidsarn is set to continue his impressive run at the Indonesia Open in Jakarta, taking place from June 3-8. Meanwhile, the mixed doubles duo of "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fame" Supisara Peawsampran achieved success by defeating Hong Kong's Tang Chunman and Tzu Yingsua with a sc ore of 21-16, 21-9. This victory adds a third championship to their record this year, and a fifth overall for the pair.
