Bangkok: "Suchart" invites a group of 18 people to have dinner tonight, asks for the resolution of the Forward Politics group, asks the party to expel them after the Prime Minister said to follow the resolution of the party's executive committee.
According to Thai News Agency, the gathering comes in the wake of a statement by Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra regarding ongoing disputes within the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party. The Prime Minister emphasized that the party should manage the issue internally, adhering to decisions made by its executive committee. Deputy Minister of Commerce and deputy party leader, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, is spearheading the meeting, where 18 Members of Parliament (MPs) will discuss their collective stance on future political engagements.
The MPs involved are reportedly prepared to request their expulsion from the party, citing ideological differences. They assert that parting ways amicably is the best course of action. The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party's executive committee comprises nine members, seven of whom support Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, who leads the party. The remaining two members are aligned with Mr. Suchart's group. Concerns have been raised by the MPs that any forthcoming resolution by the executive committee might be biased due to the committee's composition, which they argue does not reflect the equitable representation of their 18 votes.
