Bangkok: Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AeroThai) has confirmed that flights to Thailand remain safe and are operating normally, despite ongoing regional tensions. The agency is encouraging South Korean tourists to continue traveling to Thailand with confidence.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichet Kunathamarak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. (AeroThai), emphasized that the air traffic in Thailand is secure and meets international standards, even amidst the current conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. AeroThai is fully prepared to handle international flights, including those from South Korea, at full capacity. The organization is equipped with the necessary personnel, technology, and safety measures to ensure uninterrupted services for airlines and passengers.
Statistics on international flights indicate that Thailand accommodates a total of 19,870 flights annually, averaging 54 flights per day. Among these, flights from Incheon Airport in Seoul account for the majority, with an average of 45 flights daily, followed by Gimhae Airport in Busan with 7 flights, and Daegu Airport with 2 flights per day.
Currently, flights between Thailand and South Korea are ranked 8th among all international routes for the fiscal year 2025, making up 4% of total international flights. The frequency of flights from South Korea to Thailand is on the rise. Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AROT) projects an increase from 54 to 60 flights per day between December 2025 and January 2026, indicating sustained confidence in the travel link between the two countries. AROT continues to assert that the conditions remain favorable for tourism in both nations.
Mr. Pichet also extended an invitation to South Korean tourists, highlighting Thailand's appeal as a destination with its wide range of attractions including natural scenery, cultural experiences, culinary delights, and world-class services. Travel to Thailand is noted for being convenient, quick, and safe, with direct flights available from several major South Korean cities to key Thai airports such as those in Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. This serves as a testament to the trust airlines and tourists place in Thailand's aviation infrastructure.
