Dhaka: An albino buffalo in Bangladesh is capturing global attention due to its striking resemblance to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The three-and-a-half-year-old buffalo, which weighs approximately 700 kilograms, is becoming an internet sensation because of its pale pink skin, serious-looking eyes, and a golden-yellow mane that mirrors Trump's iconic hairstyle.
According to Thai News Agency, the buffalo, officially nicknamed 'Donald Trump,' resides on a farm in the Narayanganj district near Dhaka. The farm's owner, Ziauddin Myridha, shared that the name was given by his younger brother, who noticed the buffalo's mane of golden blonde hair falling over its forehead, reminiscent of the former president's signature side-swept style. The animal receives special care, being bathed four times a day to maintain its unique coat and fed a diet of pellets, corn, rice bran, and grass multiple times daily.
However, the buffalo's newfound fame has brought challenges. Large crowds flocking to the farm to capture selfies and videos for social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook caused 'Donald Trump' to experience stress, a loss of appetite, and subsequent weight loss. To protect the buffalo's well-being, the farm owner had to restrict the number of visitors. Despite the attention, the owner reassured that 'Donald Trump' is gentle and calm, with a tame temperament unless provoked.
Despite its international celebrity status and interest from organizations, including the US Embassy in Bangladesh, the buffalo's fate was sealed as Bangladesh prepared for Eid al-Adha, a festival involving animal sacrifice. 'Donald Trump' was sold to a businessman in Dhaka for 550 taka per kilogram, destined for slaughter in line with Islamic traditions. The farm owner expressed his sadness over losing the buffalo but acknowledged the importance of the festival's spirit and essence.
