Bangkok: AMA Marine Public Company Limited has officially denied recent reports suggesting that it has purchased 500 rai of land in connection with the Land Bridge project. In a press conference, the company emphasized its commitment to transparency and clarified that it does not engage in real estate development or use nominees.
According to Thai News Agency, the allegations emerged during a press conference held by a Member of Parliament from the People's Party on May 6, 2026. The claims suggested that AMA had acquired approximately 500 rai of land in Ao Khae, Ranong Province, under the guise of a local company known as Ama. However, the company firmly stated that these claims are false and could mislead the public.
AMA Marine, listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, reiterated its core operations in transportation and logistics, focusing on the transportation of oil, chemicals, and liquid goods. The company clarified that it does not have any policies related to acquiring land for speculative purposes tied to government projects, including the Land Bridge project. Furthermore, AMA confirmed that it has no involvement in the alleged land purchase in Ranong or Chumphon provinces.
The company also addressed concerns about nominee arrangements, asserting that it does not hold assets on behalf of any individual. AMA disclosed that it owns only one plot of land in Si Racha District, which was purchased in 2016 and is utilized for vehicle maintenance and managing oil transportation vehicles.
Despite some shareholders holding political positions, AMA assured that its shareholding structure and management practices align with good governance principles and adhere to transparency, supervised by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Financial statements reveal that all revenue is derived from shipping and road transportation services, with no real estate investments involved.
Mr. Phisarn Ratchakitprakarn, Managing Director of AMA, emphasized the company's dedication to clarifying facts to protect investor confidence and expressed willingness to cooperate with relevant authorities to investigate the information thoroughly. He reiterated AMA's commitment to conducting business with transparency and sincerity.
