Anutin Awaits Report on Hun Manet’s Protest Over Alleged Territorial Violations

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul stated that he has not yet received a report regarding Hun Manet's planned protest against Thailand for allegedly violating Cambodian territory. He believes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation and will provide clarification should a protest occur. He reiterated that Thailand has always adhered to agreements and there should be no problems.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the issue of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's video posted during a visit to Preah Vihear province, in which he indicated his intention to protest Thailand's alleged use of military force to violate Cambodian territory. Mr. Anutin stated that he had not yet received a report but believed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was closely monitoring the situation and would be able to clarify the matter to any organizations with concerns. He added that he had previously stated Thailand would abide by the ceasefire agreement with Cambodia, with all conditions clearly defined in that agreement, leaving no room for doubt.

Regarding whether this is an attempt to create a situation leading to a new clash, Mr. Anutin believes it is not a problem, as long as Thailand does not violate the agreement. Thailand has always maintained this stance, and therefore can set the terms that are satisfactory to all.
