Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has clarified that the "Half-Price Plus" Phase 2 scheme is not yet available due to the dissolution of parliament. He emphasized that central government funds cannot be utilized until a regular government assumes office.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin discussed the recent appreciation of the Thai baht, which has reached its highest level in four years, potentially impacting the nation's exports and tourism sectors. Minister of Commerce Supajee Suthamphan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapha are reportedly in talks with the Bank of Thailand (BOT) to address the situation and devise appropriate measures.
In response to inquiries about the progress of Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno's report concerning discussions with the Election Commission (EC) on the feasibility of the "Half-Price Plus Phase 2" project, Anutin affirmed that the government is committed to following established rules. Due to its caretaker status, the government cannot access contingency funds and must wait for a new government to take office before proceeding with the project.
