Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has disclosed that he has received an invitation to attend a lecture by former Minister Thaksin Shinawatra at the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB). The lecture, which will cover the topic 'Drugs, Transnational Crime, Perspectives and Challenges in Sustainable Problem Solving', had sparked rumors about whether Anutin was invited to the event.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin clarified that he received the invitation this morning in his capacity as Minister of Interior. He also mentioned that the ONCB had invited Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Somsak Thepsuthin and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Phumtham Vejjayachai. Anutin emphasized the importance of collective efforts and sharing experiences in addressing drug-related issues, noting that listening to various perspectives is beneficial.
Regarding concerns about past drug suppression practices, Anutin assured that all actions would be in compliance with the law. He stated that any measures taken would adhere to legal regulations, urging the public not to be worried.
