Bangkok: Phumtham, Minister of Defense, signed the appointment of Dr. Dangjai as the Defense Spokesperson. Reporters reported that on May 23, 2025, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Minister of Defense, signed the Ministry of Defense Order No. 505/2025 appointing the Ministry of Defense Spokesperson and the Ministry Spokesperson Working Group.
According to Thai News Agency, Colonel Dangjai Suwankitti has been appointed as the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense. The order also appoints Colonel Siwat Chosai as the deputy spokesman and Group Captain Natthanai Chanpleng, Lieutenant Commander Thirawat Chinnarong, Captain Nathamon Kunchorn, and Captain Pornpatra Kuchamphu as assistant spokespeople. Additionally, Captain Kesuda Deecharoen has been named the chief of the Office of the Spokesperson, with Captain Sakchai Krungkasem as the assistant chief. Sergeant Major Sukprasong Werasri is a member of the Ministry of Defense Spokesperson Working Group.
The appointments aim to enhance public relations regarding the Ministry's missions, official duties, and the implementation of specific policies to support government initiatives effectively. The goal is to ensure smooth communication and create awareness and understanding among the public and society.
Colonel Dangjai has prior experience as a member of the Defense Ministry's spokesperson team under former Defense Minister Sutin Khlangsaeng and served as Deputy Defense Ministry Spokesperson alongside Maj. Gen. Thanathip Sawangsaeng. Following Pol. Lt. Gen. Thanathip's resignation, Colonel Dangjai acted as the interim spokesperson before her official appointment. Known as Nu Lek, she has a background as a balance therapy doctor and was the Deputy Head of the Department of Physiology at Phramongkutklao College of Medicine.
