Bangkok: Argentina beat 10-man Switzerland 3-1 in extra time to advance to the World Cup semi-finals where they will face England. The victory took place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final match held at Kansas City Stadium.

According to Thai News Agency, the match saw Argentina take an early lead in the 10th minute with a goal from Alexis Mac Allister. Switzerland equalized in the 67th minute when Dan Ndoy found the back of the net. However, the Swiss team was reduced to 10 men when Breel Embolo received a red card in the 72nd minute, putting them at a disadvantage.

The game proceeded to extra time, where Argentina capitalized on their numerical advantage. Julian Alvarez scored in the 112th minute, giving Argentina a 2-1 lead. The victory was sealed in the final moments of the match with Lautaro Martinez scoring in the 120+1 minute, ending the game 3-1 in favor of Argentina.

Argentina will now advance to the semi-finals to face England at Atlanta Stadium on Thursday, July 16th at 2:00 AM.
