Bangkok Gubernatorial Campaign Integrates Art to Highlight 22 Policies

Bangkok: In the final stretch of the Bangkok gubernatorial election, "Team Chatchart" conveys its 22 policies through art.

According to Thai News Agency, "Team Chatchart" has engaged 24 artists to visually represent 22 of their policy goals, which span a wide range of issues including urban accessibility, air quality improvement, and enhanced social services. The campaign aims to present a collective vision for Bangkok, transforming traditional campaign methods by turning billboards into art galleries.

In the campaign's final week, candidate Chatchart Sittipunt, number 9 on the ballot, and his team employed creative strategies to communicate their message. By using art instead of conventional signage, the campaign intends to make policy discussions more engaging and shareable among the public.

The "Bangkok at Work" team showcased art from a diverse group of artists, including emerging talents and autistic creators, each interpreting a specific policy. These artworks are displayed on screens along major thoroughfares and public spaces, inviting citizens to engage with the policies visually.

The campaign emphasizes policies that cater to all demographics. For instance, Underhatdaddy's work promotes universal health checkups, while Sandier's piece reimagines senior care centers as welcoming homes. Dewy addresses reducing teachers' workloads, and Poland highlights the educational benefits of a toy library.

Infrastructure improvements are also a focus, with Abig Burger's artwork promoting inclusive pedestrian bridges and Monty's piece advocating for a bike-sharing network. Meanwhile, THE DUANG's work on expanding the CCTV network underscores public safety enhancements.

Environmental policies are represented through works like Goodnight.xinqxinq's depiction of waste as a resource and miminini's vision of urban forests, emphasizing sustainability and resource efficiency.

The campaign also celebrates Bangkok's diversity and creativity. ALANLERT's project promotes career skill development, while Y33Y33 and VIPUT A. celebrate cultural vibrancy and inclusivity, respectively.

The "Bangkok at Work" team clarified that these visual policies are part of over 250 proposals that can be explored further online. The innovative use of LED campaign signs as a mini-exhibition highlights the intersection of art, policy, and public engagement in the election process.
