Bhumjaithai Party Seminar Centers on Team-Building, Excludes Political Discussions

Buriram: Natthachanon Srikornguek confirmed that the recent Bhumjaithai Party seminar focused on behavioral modification and team-building, with no political discussions or meetings with Newin Charnvirakul included in the schedule.

According to Thai News Agency, Natthanon stated that legislative positions have not yet been allocated, although several party members are seen as suitable for the Speaker of the House position. He expressed confidence in the legality of the election conducted by the Election Commission.

Mr. Natchanon Srikornguek, an MP from Songkhla representing the Bhumjaithai Party, discussed his visit to the Parliament after being unable to attend on March 6th, the originally scheduled reporting date for Bhumjaithai Party MPs. He explained that the first official seminar for the party's MPs took place on March 8-9 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram. The seminar aimed to foster team-building and help nearly 200 MPs get acquainted while clarifying asset and expenditure declaration requirements for the Election Commission (EC). Political issues were not on the agenda.

Regarding the allocation of key positions such as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Natthachon mentioned that the party had not yet convened to discuss parliamentary positions. Decisions on the Speaker, Deputy Speakers, or committee chairpersons will only occur after MPs register and the parliament convenes. He noted that many Bhumjaithai Party members are qualified for the Speaker role, which requires expertise in law and the trust of the members.

Mr. Sophon Saram continues to serve as the acting Deputy Prime Minister. His potential nomination as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives depends on the executive committee of the Bhumjaithai Party and the MPs. Mr. Natthachon emphasized that the Buriram meeting would not include discussions about forming a coalition government. The focus remains on team-building, and such political discussions are left to the party leader and secretary-general.

Addressing the possibility of Mr. Newin Chidchob's involvement, Mr. Natthanon clarified that Mr. Newin was not involved in the seminar activities, which were attended by the party leader and secretary-general. Mr. Newin is not scheduled to meet with the new MPs.

Mr. Natthachanon also expressed confidence that the complaint regarding the invalidation of the election would not impede the MPs' work. He stated that the Election Commission is an independent body responsible for managing elections, and any legal violations would be addressed. He remains confident in the Election Commission's adherence to legal standards, having recently visited the commission and maintained his trust in their process.
