Pattaya: Southern Border Provinces: "Big Lek" (General Apirat Kongsompong) has called on the public to maintain confidence in the wake of an arson attack on a gas station in the southern border provinces. He assured residents that authorities swiftly secured the area after the incident and that a comprehensive investigation is in progress. The Commander of the 4th Army Region has heightened security to its maximum level, instructing all units to be ready to respond to any incidents and to hasten the pursuit of those responsible.

According to Thai News Agency, on January 11, 2026, unidentified attackers set ablaze and bombed several PTT gas stations across the three southern border provinces. In response, security forces have cordoned off the affected areas and are conducting a meticulous investigation to ascertain the cause and collect evidence.

Defense Minister General Natthaphol Nakpanich emphasized that the public can be reassured as relevant authorities promptly secured the scene. He noted that the situation is under thorough investigation.

Lieutenant General Norathip Poynok, Commander of the 4th Army Region, has implemented the highest security measures, ensuring readiness to address any situation around the clock. He convened an emergency meeting with all relevant agencies to track progress and expedite the capture of the perpetrators for legal proceedings.
