Bangkok: The chairman of the Election Commission confirmed the readiness for the Subdistrict Administrative Organization elections. The Chairman of the Election Commission has affirmed the preparedness to facilitate voting for members of sub-district councils and mayors across the nation. He encouraged citizens to select capable local administrators and council members to foster the development of their communities and the nation. Additionally, he highlighted the commission's readiness for the forthcoming parliamentary elections and referendum.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narong Klanwarin, Chairman of the Election Commission, made these remarks during a field visit to monitor the nationwide elections for sub-district administrative organizations and mayors. He elaborated on the ongoing preparations by the Election Commission office, which include rehearsals at central and regional levels, as well as training sessions for officials and polling station committee members to ensure a seamless election process. Furthermore, the Election Commission and the Secretary-General have allocated responsibilities for inspecting the election process on the ground and providing support to the officials involved.
Mr. Narong also appealed to the public to participate in large numbers, underscoring the significance of local elections. He pointed out that the public is closest to their local administrators in these elections, and selecting competent local administrators and council members will contribute to the advancement of their localities and the country overall.
In relation to the general election for Members of Parliament, slated for February 8th, Mr. Narong mentioned that it will follow the local elections, with just a one-month gap. He clarified that while the general election and the referendum are distinct events, they hold equal importance. He urged citizens to exercise their voting rights in both events, emphasizing that such actions reflect the rights of the people and their individual rights. He stressed that citizens are well aware of the benefits that come with exercising their rights for the nation.
