Buddhists Gather in Large Numbers at Wat Sothon to Honor Luang Pho Sothon

CHACHOENGSAO: Buddhists have converged on Chachoengsao City in significant numbers to pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon, a revered guardian deity, seeking blessings and good fortune. The influx of devotees has resulted in heavy traffic across various routes leading to Wat Sothon, underscoring the deep spiritual connection and cultural significance of the annual pilgrimage.

According to Thai News Agency, worshippers have been visiting since early morning, bringing offerings such as boiled eggs, drinking water, and flower garlands to honor Luang Pho Sothon. Many of these devotees attribute past successes and fulfilled wishes in 2024 to their previous visits and prayers at the temple. This year, a noticeable increase in the number of working-age individuals accompanying their parents and elderly family members has been observed, reflecting a growing trend of intergenerational participation in the spiritual ritual.

The annual pilgrimage to Wat Sothon not only highlights the community's devotion to Luang Pho Sothon but also emphasizes the cultural and spiritual ties that bind families across generations.
