Chaiwat and Pichit Campaign in Bang Phlat, Propose AI Technology to Combat Fraud

Bangkok: Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, a candidate for Bangkok Governor, together with former Bangkok Governor Pichit Rattakul, and the People's Party's Bangkok City Council candidates for Bang Phlat district, have initiated their campaign on Sai Mai Road. The campaign is aimed at introducing themselves and highlighting their key policies. Chaiwat emphasized that Sai Mai Road, known for its historical timber trading, holds the potential to become a significant business and tourist hub, which aligns with the People's Party's campaign promises.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichit Rattakul expressed his support for Mr. Chaiwat, describing him as a candidate with a strong background suitable for leading Bangkok. Pichit believes that Bangkok's development should encompass not just economic and urban planning, but also the creation of new perspectives. He trusts Mr. Chaiwat to bring about this change and has offered his assistance, though he has declined any future advisory roles due to his age, advocating for younger leadership instead. Mr. Chaiwat plans to leverage the expertise of Mr. Pichit and the dedicated team, combining their efforts with the younger generation of the People's Party.

Mr. Pichit also addressed the advantages of being a Bangkok Governor affiliated with a political party, noting that regardless of party affiliation, the role relies heavily on teamwork. He highlighted the importance of collaboration, pointing out that the People's Party has demonstrated excellent teamwork within the House of Representatives. Reflecting on his past support for Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, Pichit emphasized the need for personal decision-making in political campaigns, stating that his current campaign for Mr. Chaiwat is independent of previous commitments.

Addressing concerns about his qualifications compared to former Governor Mr. Chatchart, Mr. Chaiwat urged voters to focus on progress and development rather than comparisons. He identified corruption as a key issue needing resolution at both municipal and national levels. The People's Party has proposed utilizing AI technology to detect fraud, which they believe will aid in addressing these challenges. The party aims to communicate its ability to work across various sectors, even those beyond the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's direct control.

Mr. Pijarn Chaowapatanawong, Secretary-General of the People's Party, expressed that elections provide an opportunity to enact change and elevate Thai politics. He acknowledged the People's Party's historical success in past Bangkok elections, viewing the current campaign as a chance to demonstrate their vision and capability. Regardless of the election outcome, the party is committed to presenting viable solutions for Bangkok's future.
