Bangkok: Chatchart Sittipunt and Chaiwat Sathavorawichit have demonstrated unity following a brief campaign encounter at AC Market in Sai Mai, Bangkok. This meeting is being seen as a constructive step as both candidates present their policies to the public.
According to Thai News Agency, during a campaign visit to AC Market in Sai Mai District, Bangkok, Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, who is candidate number 9 for the Bangkok Governor position, and Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, a candidate from the People's Party, met while campaigning. Both candidates had their campaign schedules aligned for visits to Sai Mai and Bang Khen districts. Upon their meeting, Mr. Chaiwat greeted Mr. Chatchart, who responded warmly with a handshake and the words, "Hey, Joe, how are you?" Mr. Chatchart also took the opportunity to greet Mr. Phamon Pholchan, the People's Party's candidate for Bangkok City Council in Sai Mai District.
Mr. Chatchart later revealed that they exchanged words of encouragement. He expressed that Mr. Chaiwat possesses numerous good and detailed policies, emphasizing that their interactions were not about competition but rather about providing the best options for the public's consideration. He stated that if Mr. Chaiwat is elected governor, they are prepared to collaborate and assist him, indicating there were no issues between them. Mr. Chatchart acknowledged that Mr. Chaiwat was accompanied by the Bangkok City Council candidates, which initiated their conversation. He further stated their readiness to cooperate, regardless of the election outcome. Mr. Chatchart emphasized the positive atmosphere of their meeting, expressing confidence in working collaboratively with Dr. Chaiwat if he becomes governor, highlighting their commitment to cooperation beyond party lines.
