Suspect Arrested for Stabbing Incident in South Pattaya

South pattaya: A man who stabbed an LGBTQ woman in the neck, causing serious injury, has been arrested. He claimed jealousy and unemployment as motives, but his story backfired when he was caught riding a stolen motorcycle while applying for jobs.

According to Thai News Agency, following the May 25th stabbing of Preeyapat, an LGBTQ woman, in the neck in her apartment on Soi Krom Thidin 3, South Pattaya, police at Huai Yai Police Station apprehended Apisit, or "Champ," 22, today (May 30th, 2026) while he was applying for a job at a glass installation shop in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. The shop owner became suspicious of Champ's behavior, including his failure to provide identification documents and the possibility that his motorcycle was stolen, prompting them to notify the police.

This led to the arrest of Mr. Champ, the suspect, on a warrant for the offense of causing serious bodily harm to another person. Furthermore, it was discovered that the Honda Forza 350 motorcycle, green in color, with Chachoengsao license plates, that he rode to apply for the job was stolen from inside Soi Chaiyapruek 2, Moo 4, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The victim had filed a police report on May 25th.

During questioning, Mr. Champ confessed that he had been dating Mr. Beer for about 3 months. He admitted to stabbing Mr. Beer, but claimed the act was due to a moment of irrationality and jealousy. He said he wanted to visit Mr. Beer in the hospital and apologize in person if possible. Regarding the motorcycle, he admitted to stealing it because he was unemployed and had been searching for work for over 20 days without success.

Police are not yet convinced by his statement, as on May 25th, 2026, Mr. Champ committed several crimes. He started by stealing a motorcycle on Thepprasit Road in the Pattaya City Police Station area. Later that morning, he abandoned the stolen motorcycle and stole another, a green Honda Forza 350. That night, he used the stolen motorcycles to stab his accomplice, causing serious injury. After the incident, he went into hiding for over five days before riding his motorcycle to apply for a job and being arrested. Police are accelerating their investigation and expanding the scope of the prosecution.
