Beijing: China's Ministry of Public Security has announced the arrest of over 880 fugitives wanted for economic crimes abroad, including 38 individuals listed on Interpol's Red List. This significant operation, known as "Fox Hunt," took place between 2025 and the end of April, demonstrating China's efforts to pursue economic crime offenders who have fled internationally.
According to Thai News Agency, the "Fox Hunt" campaign is a special initiative aimed at capturing individuals involved in economic crimes and ensuring they face justice. In addition to the arrests, Chinese police have made substantial progress domestically, solving 128,000 economic crime cases and recovering assets that have mitigated financial losses by up to 37.5 billion yuan, approximately 180 billion baht. The authorities dismantled over 100 cross-regional underground banking networks and addressed more than 1,600 cases of illegal fund transfers using offshore companies and banks.
The Ministry of Public Security highlighted 20 key cases pursued since 2025, involving offenses such as illegal business activities, money laundering, counterfeiting, illegal fundraising, tax-related crimes, and corporate corruption. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to combat illegal activities, emphasizing the government's determination to reduce financial risks and maintain order in the market economy.
