Chulaphan Confirms Yotsanan’s Possible Candidacy for MP Amid Positive Reception for Pheu Thai Campaign

Bangkok: "Chulaphan" reveals that "Yotsanan" is considering whether to run for MP as well, praising him as a builder and expressing confidence that he will lead Pheu Thai to victory. He also stated that the announcement of the prime minister candidate two days ago has received a positive response and that they will field candidates in all 400 constituencies.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, leader and prime ministerial candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, gave an interview regarding the party's preparations for campaigning, stating that they are 100 percent ready and will field candidates in all 400 constituencies.

Regarding the previous statement that candidates needed to be found in every constituency, and whether this has now been achieved or if adjustments can be made until the registration day, Mr. Chulaphan stated that, in reality, adjustments are possible, but the situation is fairly stable. Although it may not be exactly 400 candidates, the shortfall is not significant. The number and list of candidates are already prepared. We are confident that by the registration day, we will field candidates in all 400 constituencies and 100 candidates for the party-list system.

When asked whether the rankings for the party-list MPs had been finalized, Mr. Chulaphan said that discussions were still ongoing and not yet complete, until the final days. Regarding whether Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, would also run for MP, Mr. Chulaphan acknowledged that a proposal had been made and discussions were ongoing, adding that adjustments were possible and the final list would become clear when it was officially announced.

When asked whether Mr. Yotsanan was personally interested in running for MP or if he would only be a candidate for that position, Mr. Chulaphan said that Mr. Yotsanan was already a member and had even run for a constituency MP before. He thought Mr. Yotsanan was ready, but they wanted to discuss the details further.

When asked about the public reaction two days after the launch of the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, Mr. Chulaphan said the response had been very positive. He stated that the party needed to create innovation in politics, establish new dimensions, reduce conflict and smear campaigns, and move forward with national development. He mentioned the need to present and restructure the country to advance, and that Mr. Yotsanan is a creative individual with innovative ideas, focusing on improving existing resources. He considered this a relatively new approach to Thai politics, particularly his scientific perspective. Based on the public reception, he expressed confidence that the three prime ministerial candidates, especially Mr. Yotsanan, would lead Pheu Thai to victory.
