Clash Between Thai and Cambodian Soldiers Escalates to Multiple Areas, Injuries Reported

Bangkok: Urgent developments have unfolded as military clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces have spread to six different areas, resulting in injuries to two soldiers. The Royal Thai Army disclosed that Cambodian soldiers have initiated an additional battle line at Pha Mor E Daeng, Khao Phra Wihan, prompting a response from Thai troops involving artillery fire.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Army Headquarters reported on July 24, 2015, that the conflict intensified around 09.20 hrs. Lt. Col. Richa Suksuwanon, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, stated that additional clashes were observed along the entire area of Pha Mor E Daeng, Prasat Khao Phra Wihan. Cambodian forces employed a variety of weapons, including BM21s, while the Thai military engaged as planned and countered with field artillery.

The incident resulted in two military personnel sustaining injuries from a support weapon in the Prasat Ta Muen area, located in Surin Province. Reports indicate that the clashes have now affected six locations: Prasat Ta Muen Thom, Prasat Ta Kwai, Chong Bok, Khao Phra Wihan (Huai Ta Maria/Phu Makhuea), Chong An Ma, and Chong Chom.
