Phumtham Directs Comprehensive Support for Nan Province Flood Victims

Nan: "Phumtham" orders officials to take full care of flood victims in Nan Province. Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting as Prime Minister, announced this directive following a strategic meeting with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). The meeting focused on the ongoing flood situation exacerbated by Tropical Storm Wipha, particularly the water levels in Nan Province. A dedicated unit has been established to monitor developments around the clock. In response to the crisis, hospitals have proactively relocated patients, and substantial disaster relief machinery has been dispatched to the affected areas. Although the flooding is a result of natural forces, efforts are being made to identify the most effective solutions.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham emphasized that the government is resolute in its commitment to alleviate the distress of the affected residents. He assured that the administration perceives the community's hardships as its own and is determined to deliver the necessary support and resources to mitigate the impact of the disaster.
