Bangkok: The Department of Religious Affairs recently organized a Buddhist chanting ceremony to honor His Majesty the King, as well as a separate event to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 4th cycle birthday anniversary.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit was held on June 3, 2026, at Wat Hong Rattanaram in Bangkok. It was presided over by Phra Tham Wachiramethi, Chief Monk of Region 1 and Abbot of Wat Hong Rattanaram, alongside Mr. Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture. The event saw participation from Mr. Parames Potharakul, Advisor to the Minister of Culture; Mr. Chaiyapol Suk-iam, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs; representatives from Buddhist organizations; and the public. A relief package distribution ceremony was also conducted for the community.
In the regional areas, the Department of Religious Affairs, in partnership with provincial cultural offices, is organizing activities in honor of His Majesty the King, tailored to the local context.
The Medical Development Center Clinic also hosted a merit-making ceremony with alms giving and a homage-paying ceremony to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 4th cycle birthday anniversary. The clinic, established under the royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, aims to provide quality medical services and promote community welfare. Administrators and staff of the clinic participated in the event to mark the auspicious occasion.
