EGCO Group Wins Outstanding Human Rights Model Organization Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

Bangkok: Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) has been honored with the 2025 Outstanding Large Business Organization (LBO) Human Rights Model Award for the fourth consecutive year by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice. This accolade underscores EGCO Group's commitment to integrating human rights principles across its operations, thereby creating sustainable and positive impacts within the organization and extending to the broader community. The award was received by Mr. Thawat Hirunjarukorn, Senior Vice President of Asset Management at EGCO Group, from Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thawat emphasized EGCO Group's dedication to upholding human rights as a fundamental right for all individuals. The company's commitment is reflected in its comprehensive human rights policy, which promotes fair treatment for employees and stakeholders throughout its value chain. This policy is grounded in principles of equality, respect for differences, support for diversity, non-discrimination, and strong opposition to child abuse and labor. These principles are deeply embedded in the organization's culture and are supported by robust whistleblowing and complaint investigation processes.

Mr. Thawat stated, "As a leading global power and energy-related business, EGCO Group has implemented a human rights policy that aligns with both national and international laws and regulations. The Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice, annually evaluates organizations to identify those that exemplify the integration of human rights principles into their operations. This includes government bodies, state enterprises, businesses, and civil society organizations. In 2025, 157 organizations were recognized with the award, serving as exemplary models in fostering a society respectful of human rights.
