Bangkok: "Ekanat" has expressed confidence that the Members of Parliament will not abandon the Palang Pracharath Party, affirming his support for "Pirapan" in the ongoing case.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, the Minister of Industry and Secretary-General of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, addressed recent reports of MPs switching parties. He stated that, based on his conversations with several MPs, they are actively engaging in local elections and receiving positive feedback from their constituents. He reassured that the MPs remain committed to fulfilling their duties with the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, which prioritizes its ideology over conflicts, focusing instead on solving issues for the people. Despite past friction, the party continues its responsibilities, particularly within the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Energy.
Mr. Ekkanat dismissed rumors regarding Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce and a party-list MP, potentially joining the Kla Tham Party. He urged the public not to worry about the party's leadership, emphasizing that the party's survival relies on its ideology and accomplishments rather than on benefits or factionalism.
Regarding the National Anti-Corruption Commission's (NACC) impending ethical charges against Mr. Pirapan for allegedly distributing relief bags with his name in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Mr. Ekkanat expressed confidence in Mr. Pirapan's readiness to face the investigation and provide necessary explanations. He assured that both he and the party members fully support Mr. Pirapan in addressing the charges and continuing his work, notably in maintaining energy prices below 3.90 baht.
Mr. Ekkanat downplayed the significance of recent complaints filed against Mr. Pirapan, stating that he does not prioritize political conflicts or accusations, as they do not lead to improvements. Instead, he focuses on addressing critical economic issues, such as the global trade war and the reform of the nation's industries to curb illegal activities.
