Bangkok: The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has made significant headway in recovering the area in front of the Dao Khanong checkpoint, achieving progress of more than 95% and surpassing the initial timeline.
According to Thai News Agency, EXAT, under the Ministry of Transport, reported that as of March 18, 2025, the debris removal process has reached 95% completion. This rapid progress suggests that the area in front of the Dao Khanong Toll Plaza will be restored ahead of schedule. Key developments include the successful dismantling of the main truss, tower support steel frame, and H-beam structural reinforcements, with the latter reaching approximately 95% completion. Furthermore, about 90% of the concrete from the original expressway structure has been extracted.
A temporary detour was activated on March 17, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. in front of the Dao Khanong checkpoint, allowing for continued traffic flow. EXAT aims to expedite the restoration efforts to reopen the expressway service on the Dao Khanong inbound route promptly. The authority is focused on facilitating public travel by ensuring the strict control and removal of debris and plans to complete the repair process and reopen the service within 30 days.
