Bangkok: Fire engulfs 9 wooden houses in the middle of the city, Soi Sukantharam 21, Dusit District. Officials are working hard to put out the fire and are able to control the situation in a short time. There were no deaths, only minor injuries. Meanwhile, government agencies are rushing to set up a relief center for those affected.
According to Thai News Agency, on June 7, 2025, at 10:57 a.m., the Phra Ram Radio Center received a report of a house fire in Soi Sukantharam 21, Suan Chitlada Subdistrict, Dusit District. The incident occurred in a series of wooden houses built next to each other, causing the fire to spread rapidly, resulting in damage to a total of 9 houses. Dusit Fire Station officers rushed to the scene with full firefighting equipment and were able to completely control the fire by 11:42 a.m. Initially, there were no fatalities from the incident. There were 2 injuries from attempts to put out the fire. Both of them sustained minor injuries to their arms due to burns and received first aid.
Mr. Thianchai Wongsuwan, Director of Dusit District, revealed that from the initial damage survey, 9 houses were completely damaged. Currently, the Dusit District Office has set up a disaster relief center in front of Wat Sukhantharam to facilitate and provide assistance in various areas, such as registering victims, distributing relief bags, and finding temporary shelters. The District Office has prepared 2 temporary shelters: Sukhothai School and Wat Sukhantharam, to provide disaster victims with a place to stay during this time.
In terms of the investigation into the cause, officers from Dusit Metropolitan Police Station and forensic police will inspect the area after the fire is extinguished and safe to collect additional information to determine the cause of the fire.
For the relief of the victims, Mr. Thianchai confirmed that the Dusit District Office will provide assistance and care to the victims in full, including accommodation, food, and other necessities to alleviate the suffering of the people during this time.
