Chiang mai: Crowds rushed to fill up a gas station in Doi Saket, emptying all 4,000 liters; those waiting in line were disappointed. Several gas stations in Chiang Mai city ran out of fuel in less than two hours. A gas station in Doi Saket district offered unlimited refills, but only for half a day, draining its tank of 4,000 liters. Those waiting in line were disappointed.
According to Thai News Agency, this morning at a gas station in Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province, there was a long line of vehicles waiting to refuel. Most were pickup trucks and lorries needing diesel fuel. Many said they were traveling from Chiang Rai Province, where many gas stations were out of fuel, and some were limiting purchases to 1,000 baht or 500 baht. This forced vehicles heading to Chiang Mai city to refuel at the Doi Saket gas station, which was the first to offer unlimited fuel.
For example, the driver of this pickup truck said he drives a general transportation business from Chiang Rai Province and had to wait in line to refuel here for an hour. He was very happy to finally fill his tank so he could comfortably transport goods to his customers waiting in Mae Rim District. He added that the recent fuel crisis showed that many gas stations ran out of fuel, which greatly hampered the transportation of goods. He urged the government to help resolve this problem for the public.
Furthermore, many vehicles waiting in line were disappointed. In less than two hours, approximately 4,000 liters of fuel that had just been delivered to the gas station ran out within an hour and a half. Many people who had been waiting in line for two hours complained that they couldn't refuel. It was observed that almost every gas station in Chiang Mai city during rush hour had long queues of vehicles, and drivers thought that the diesel fuel had run out.
