Bangkok: The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed that the supply of medicines and medical supplies is sufficient to meet the needs for the next 3-4 months. Dr. Ekachai Piansriwachara, the Deputy Permanent Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry, stated that close monitoring is being conducted on potentially sensitive drug items to ensure availability.
According to Thai News Agency, the Public Health Administration Division (PHADD), in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is actively monitoring and coordinating the supply and demand of pharmaceuticals. They are working with pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, and regional hospitals, utilizing an online pharmaceutical management information system to track inventory. Special attention is given to essential drugs, particularly those for chronic diseases and psychiatric conditions, to prevent shortages.
Hospitals are advised to implement suitable usage measures based on local contexts and internal management. On energy conservation, hospital directors across the nation are instructed to modify service models to reduce energy consumption. This includes promoting telemedicine, utilizing Health Rider services for medicine delivery, adjusting medication dispensing schedules, and coordinating with local gas stations to support emergency ambulance services without disruption.
